National Military

The National Military exists to protect and serve the nation-state of Bohemia. Whilst the National Military is mostly self-governed and self-organised they do take their executive orders from the National Defence Industry Council, who are ultimately in charge of overseeing all their activities and operations.

Structure

The National Military follows the below hierarchical organisational structure:

- Squadrons

National Military

The National Military is commanded by a joint council known as the National Military Council, which is composed of all Commanders and all Head Military Bureaucrats assigned to the National Military Armies.

National Military Fleets

A National Military Fleet is commanded by a Commander. A National Military Fleet is made up of Squadrons.

Squadrons

A Squadron is commanded by a Captain. A Squadron can be composed of between 5 and 20 ships, depending on the size of the ships in question.

Composition

The allocation of soldiers across the National Military is random and therefore there is a relatively balanced representation of members of every Clann in each Squadron. The distribution of males to females is also random so as to strive for an even distribution across the board. Interestingly the general ratio of males to females across the entire National Military is relatively close as it is around 60:40 (60% males and 40% females).

Military Bureaucrats

The Military Bureaucrats that support the National Military forces are civilians and not soldiers. For this reason they are not technically considered members of the National Military. They are part of the Public Governance System and report directly to the National Defence Industry Council. They also never engage in actual military combat and for this reason the Soldiers of the National Military often treat the Bureaucrats with disdain. That being said, the Military Bureaucrats are grudgingly respected by the troops as a result of their expert theoretical Military knowledge.

Function

The National Military serves three primary functions:

• Defense of the planet Bohemia from internal or external threats

• Protection of National Assets off-planet

• Pursue and Fulfil National Interests off-planet

Some examples of typical Military operations the Clann Armies are involved with include:

• Patrolling the atmospheric space of Bohemia

• Patrolling the extra-atmospheric space surrounding Bohemia

• Providing Security Escort to the numerous Bohemian freight ships that are responsible for freighting cargo across all of Galia

• Offensive/Defensive operations to protect National interests, the interests of Allies, on foreign planets or extraterrestrial regions of space

• Terraforming operations

• Intelligence Gathering

• Peace-keeping
